Rosemary J. Nevins has over twenty-six years of experience in labor and employment law. Rosemary began her career in labor and employment law as Staff Counsel II for the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD). In that role, Rosemary reviewed preliminary findings submitted by the MCAD investigators; wrote orders and decisions as assigned by the Commissioners; tried cases; scheduled hearings before the MCAD; conducted training sessions and seminars on the function of the Commission and the state laws offering protection against discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations and education. After three years with the MCAD, Rosemary entered private practice where she exclusively concentrated her practice in the area of management-side labor and employment law, working at a boutique regional labor and employment law firm, first as an associate and later as a partner. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she spent several years in the field of education.
Rosemary serves as Senior Counsel in the firm. Her extensive litigation experience includes representing employers before various tribunals, including federal and state courts as well as federal and state agencies, in all matters pertaining to employment law. In addition to litigating cases, Rosemary has conducted or participated in numerous seminars and training sessions for supervisory personnel and human resources managers dealing with a plethora of subjects germane to the employment relationship. She has also authored numerous articles on employment-related topics and previously served as Associate Editor of the Massachusetts Employment Law Newsletter.
Rosemary holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Spanish from Marymount College, Tarrytown, New York; an MS (Elem. Ed.) from the College of St. Rose, Albany, New York; an Ed. D. (Reading/Language Arts) from the State University of New York at Albany, New York and a Juris Doctor from Western New England College School of Law, Springfield, Massachusetts.
Rosemary's volunteer activities include serving on the Human Rights Committee of Aditus, Inc., as a school tutor and at the YMCA. Rosemary is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts.
